Book of Hours

Project Overview: On display in the Nasher Museum’s permanent collection is a Book of Hours from the 15th century. The book is a delicate object that sits in a glass case and cannot be handled by the public. We created a web app to accompany the book on display in the museum and allow visitors to interact with the digitized book. The web app was developed with interactive page turn animations; users can “turn” the pages of the book and see the pages turn on the screen as well. Each page also includes annotations and translations explaining the content on each page. The book of hours is accessible to the public from a tablet in the museum and the main Nasher website so visitors can continue to explore the book after their visit to the museum.
