North Carolina Rocks

Our State Magazine is a North Carolina treasure. With an 80+ year history, they know travel, food and culture in NC. In 2013 Our State became a client and we’re proud our relationship has resulted in two unique, fun projects.

Pie vs Cake

Our Pie vs Cake project for Our State Magazine launched last week. In case you haven’t picked up the February issue of the magazine, the featured story helps North Carolinians decide if NC is a cake state or a pie state. To compliment the written essays, we implemented a bracket tool that allows people to vote on their favorite cakes and pies over four weeks with the best pie and the best cake battling it out for the top spot.

Check out the brackets and vote. You can vote every week in February. We can’t wait to see the results.

A Prayer for North Carolina

While Pie vs Cake allows Our State to reach their social media audience in new and different ways, our first project, A Prayer for North Carolina allowed Our State to try immersive storytelling.

A Prayer for North Carolina complimented the December issue of the magazine and explores the hopes and dreams essayists have about the great north state. We delivered a first-of its kind immersive story complete with video, audio, photo slideshows and related stories from previous issues.

Our 16 essays enjoyed over 10,000 shares on Facebook. Visitors to our top performing page spent an average of 7:06 minutes on the page. There was an 49% increase in the amount of time spent on over during the same time period. In two weeks the website helped increase Our State Facebook likes increased by 2,000+ and @OurStateMag Twitter followers by 250+.

We invite you to review the site and read the case study.

We’re excited about our relationship with Our State and look forward to new projects in 2014.
