We created this website for the Charlotte, NC based wedding and specialty cake creators at Wow Factor Cakes. They came to us asking for a site that was easy to update with news, blog posts and portfolio pieces that also showcased their terrific work. Once we saw their work, we knew big, bold background photography was the way to go. We used details from their cakes wherever possible (check out the navigation bar), and chose to use small splashes of bright pink in an otherwise totally grayscale site, allowing for those background images to really pop. Alisa built a custom slideshow feature on the “Taste it!” page (see Wowie Pops and Cake Pops), and created a nice soft fade in and out for the background images on the homepage. We’re incredibly proud of the site, even though looking at it always just makes us hungry…
