We are excited to announce that some of our work has been recognized in this year’s Summit Creative Awards competition, an honor extended by Summit International Awards. Thanks to great partnerships with our friends at Villa La Pietra of NYU, The North Carolina Arboretum, and Nomacorc, the following websites stood out among more than 5000 submissions from 21 countries!

Villa La Pietra of New York University

http://lapietra.nyu.edu/ was awarded Gold in the Educational Institution Website category.

VLP_home

Why we loved creating this site:

We designed this website with a visitor’s experience in mind and created a color-coded system of categories to help visitors find the information they need. The color-coded layout pairs beautifully with Villa La Pietra’s original photography, creating an immersive visual experience that matches the beauty of the location itself. Additionally, we built a custom components system that allows the administrator to customize different page structures. This system gives the VLP team a toolkit of elements that enables them to easily tailor their pages to their diverse content, and includes options as basic as text boxes and as complex as browsable artifacts.

The North Carolina Arboretum

http://www.ncarboretum.org/ was awarded Silver in the Travel/Tourism/Nature Website category.

NC-Arboretum_calendar

Why we loved creating this site:

The North Carolina Arboretum sees a diverse range of visitors and needed a website that would allow each visitor to quickly access the information they need, particularly details about all the great events and exhibitions. To meet this need our team implemented a responsive calendar that can be changed from grid to list view depending on the viewer’s preference. The calendar lets users sort information by category or date and also lets them search for a specific event. The all-purpose utility of the calendar makes it simple for any site visitors to find and plan for events at the Arboretum. Additionally, the calendar has a user-friendly interface on the back-end that allows the Arboretum team to easily enter individual or recurring events.

Nomacorc

http://www.nomacorc.com/ was awarded Bronze in the B-to-B Product Website category.

Nomacorc_map

Why we loved creating this site:

Nomacorc is a global business and needed a website that could be tailored to fit the needs of its global clients. Keeping this in mind, we built the Nomacorc website as a WordPress multisite–meaning there are several websites in one WordPress installation–that lets the team at Nomacorc manage their website content and photography in six different languages. We also included a custom-built map feature that helps customers search for local Nomacorc distributors. This custom functionality lets the Nomacorc team enter and update the location of each distributor quickly and easily and across all six sites at the same time.

A key aspect of our design process is collaboration, both internally and with our clients. Whether it’s the ideas that originate from stakeholder workshops or the original content and programming our clients thoughtfully curate, each website is the result of a team effort. Our goal is to give our clients a website they can run with, a website that we can help them evolve over time, and a website that fits their unique needs. And if that website wins an award in the process it only strengthens our excitement to continue our collaboration.
